FAIRFAX - Shawn Anderson pitched a one-hit shutout to lead Springfield past Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference baseball action.
Anderson gaven up one hit and he struck out six batters.
Cade Leitheiser was the losing pticher, going seven innings, giving up five runs (two earned), nine hits, striking out six batters and walking three.
Cole Milbrath of Springfield was 2-for-4 with one RBI. Jaden Katzenmeyer was 1-for-3 for GFW.
GFW (4-7, 3-4) plays Sleepy Eye St. Mary's in a doubleheader game Saturday in Fairfax.
New Ulm 13, St. James 4
ST. JAMES - New Ulm improved to 7-1 in the South Central Conference with a 13-4 thrashing of St. James.
Chase Meyer picked up the win, going seven innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out five. Meyer also helped his own cause by knocking in three runs.
Blake Neumann was 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Eagles. Jarin Spence, Tanner Kluis, and Jackson Yackley each had two hits.
New Ulm improves to 11-3 overall and will play at home against St. Peter on Thursday.

MILROY - The Wabasso baseball leaned on some dominant pitching to earn a doubleheader sweep over Comfrey/Cedar Mountain.
Seth Guetter won the opener for Wabasso, throwing seven innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out 11 batters.
Blake Altermatt had three hits, including a double, for Wabasso, while Dirk Pistulka added three more hits and a pair of RBI.
Josh Hoek took the loss for C/CM, pitching six innings with four strikeouts.
Hoek also added a double for the Rockets.
Game 2 saw Pistulka toss seven innings, allowing just three hits and striking out 12.
Guetter had three hits, two of which were doubles. Teammate Scott Jenniges added three hits and a pair of runs batted in for Wabasso.
Cole Kelly took the loss for the Rockets, while Colton Kunkel had a double.
Wabasso improves to 10-3 overall and will play Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Friday in Milroy.
C/CM drops to 0-12 on the year and will head to Murray County Central on Thursday.
