NEW?ULM - Karl Horner, 56, of New Ulm, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 10, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor John Gabrielson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Friday.

Karl is survived by his wife, Cindy Horner of New Ulm; daughters, Jennifer (Darren) Zieske of Courtland, Jessica Horner of New Ulm; a son, Steve Horner and Desiree Saenz of Mankato; grandchildren, Brianna Zieske, Carissa Zieske, Sabrina Martin, Liam Horner, Karli Horner; sisters, Pat Hood and Carla Eckstrand both of New Ulm, Kathleen (Delmar) Konakowitz of Worthington, Theresa (Joe) Hillesheim of Kenyon; brothers, Greg Horner of New Ulm, Paul (Sharon) Horner of Long Prairie, Gerry (Patty) Horner of New Ulm, Jim (Kathy) Horner of Stacy, Tim (Dee) Horner of Sleepy Eye.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother, Ed "Buddy" Horner Jr.

Karl David Horner was born July 25, 1956 in New Ulm to Edward and Helen (Plautz) Horner. He was a graduate of New Ulm High School. Karl was united in marriage to Cindy Walden on March 2, 1974 in New Ulm. He was employed at Elixer Industries in New Ulm and Texas, General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. They then moved to New Ulm where he was employed at Coleman Industries and then Target.

He enjoyed bowling, camping, music, golfing and fixing things around the house. Karl loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
