OLIVIA - A mobile home on 700 block of Hickory Avenue in Olivia was destroyed by fire Tuesday.
Olivia Police, fire and ambulance personnel responded to the scene at 10:31 p.m. and found flames coming out of the roof and heavy smoke blowing across the road.
The residents were not home at the time, but a family pet was later found deceased inside the residence.
The home is considered to be a total loss. Two displaced residents were assisted by the American Red Cross.
A preliminary investigation determined the fire was suspicious and considered to be arson, according to Olivia Police. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
Assisting agencies were the Renville County Sheriff's Office and the Danube Fire Department.
