Wabasso girls win big over Lakeview, CM/C tops CHS

Lakeview 39

WABASSO - Kimberly Frank and Larissa Rohlik scored in double figures to lead Wabasso past Lakeview in non-conference girls basketball Friday night.

Frank scored 17 points, had six assists and six steals. Rohlik added 12 points for the Rabbits.

Wabasso (13-2, 7-1) plays at New Ulm Cathedral Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference game.

CM/C 46, Cathedral 31

MORGAN - Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated New Ulm Cathedral Friday night in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball game.

Brianna Lund led CM/C with 16 points and five rebounds. Emily Ochs and Hayley Weidman each added nine points. Ochs had 10 rebounds and Weidman added nine rebounds.

For Cathedral, Karlee Pfaff scored nine points and Leah Krzmarzick added eight points.

CM/C (8-6 overall, 5-4 in conference) will play Tuesday against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.

Cathedral will host Wabasso Tuesday.

Springfield 80,

Sleepy Eye 68

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball game Friday.

Kasey Kretsch scored 15 points for Springfield and Taylor Milbrath added 12 points and three rebounds. Samantha Groebner scored 11 points with four rebounds and Tiffany Schwanke added nine points, six assists and four rebounds.

Sleepy Eye's Josie Schieffert had 16 points and nine rebounds. Claire Krumbach added 12 points and 12 rebounds and Justine Gonzalez scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Springfield (8-7 overall, 5-4 in conference) will play at Sleepy Eye St. Mary's Tuesday.

Sleepy Eye will play at Truman Thursday.

St. Mary's 62, BLHS 56

HECTOR - Sleepy Eye St. Mary's defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Friday night in Tomahawk Conference girls basketball action.

Hannah VanderVoort had 14 points and six steals to lead the Mustangs. Michelle Melsha scored 10 points.

St Mary's stats were unavailable at press time.

St. Mary's will host Springfield Tuesday night. BLHS (0-11, 0-10) will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran Tuesday night.
