Cathedral 52, GFW 30

WINTHROP - Karlee Pfaff scored 16 points to lead the New Ulm Cathedral girls basketball team to a win over Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Tuesday.

Pfaff was joined in double figures by sophomore Anne Schwarz who scored 13 points for the Greyhounds.

GFW was led by Halley Busse with 18 points, while Eve Bleick finished with eight points.

Cathedral improves to 2-2 with the win and will play at Madelia on Thursday. GFW falls to 1-3 with the loss and travels to Wabasso on Thursday.

St. Mary's 70, RRC 64 (OT)

JEFFERS - The Sleepy Eye St. Mary's girls basketball prevailed in overtime over Red Rock Central Tuesday.

Maddy Helget led four St. Mary's players in double figures with 21 points. Jessica Schmitz scored 17 points, Nikki Carr scored 14 and Kenzie Schutz added 10 points in the victory.

Red Rock Central was led in scoring by Melanie Kedl with 19, while Brooke Rasmussen added 12 points and Hannah Sell scored 10 points.

St. Mary's improves to 5-2 on the season and will host Sleepy Eye on Thursday. Red Rock Central drops to 0-5 and will host Murray County Central next Tuesday.

HECTOR - Up 11 points at halftime, the Cedar Mountain/Comfrey girls basketball team held on to edge Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Tuesday.

BLHS got a big night from Michelle Melsha, who scored 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Hannah VanderVoort joined Melsha in double figures with 10 points.

CM/C improves to 3-2 with the win and plays at Springfield on Friday. BLHS drops to 0-4 and will host New Ulm Cathedral on Friday.
