Wabasso sweeps St. Mary’s

WABASSO - The Wabasso volleyball team defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary's by a score of 25-21, 25-17, 25-23 in Tomahawk Conference play Thursday.

Desi Kramer had a solid night for Wabasso with 12 kills, eight digs and was 15-of-15 serving. Kimberly Frank added 15 set assists, eight digs and eight kills. Chelsea Guetter led the way with 11 digs and a pair of blocks for Wabasso.

Wabasso improves to 13-4 overall and will host Willmar Tuesday. St. Mary's falls to 7-8-1 and will play at New Ulm Cathedral Monday.

RRC 3, CM/C 1

MORGAN - Red Rock Central defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 25-21, 15-25, 25-22, 25-14 in a non-conference volleyball match Thursday.

Emily Ochs had 11 kills and nine digs for CM/C while Andrea Ochs added 13 digs. Allison Madsen had 17 set assists and added four aces on 24-of-24 serving.

CM/C (1-13) will return to action on Tuesday as it travels to Sleepy Eye St. Mary's.

Nicollet 3, St. Clair 2

NICOLLET - Nicollet hung on for a victory over St. Clair 25-15, 25-14, 17-25, 21-25, 16-14 in a Valley Conference match on Thursday.

Katelyn Skrien led the Raiders in kills with 21, while Carissa Woller added 16. Nicollet was led in digs by Cheyenne Pyan with 29 and Skrien recorded 19.

Nicollet plays again on Tuesday at Truman.


PRINSBURG - Central Minnesota Christian defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 18-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-7 in a non-conference volleyball match Thursday.

Mikayla Paulson led the Mustangs with seven kills, while Becca Ebbers led the team with five digs.

BLHS plays again Tuesday when it hosts Springfield.
