The cost to install sprinklers is about $2 per square foot. This would only be required in houses over 4500 square feet, so the total impact would be about $9000 on a $500,000 home. Many of these homes are built in outlying areas where it takes fire fighters longer to respond to. Is it really that big of a deal?
