Because of President Obama, we can now travel to Cuba, but I really thought he would lift the embargo altogether. He extended it another year - still hoping for democratic & economic reform.

We have been sending food & medicine (humanitarian aid) to Cuba for a good number of years. The darn cigars, however, are still illegal here, but if I remember correctly, President Clinton bought a ton of them before he signed the embargo trade act into law. Perhaps a few Harley's made there way to Cuba at the same time. :)

The U.S. embargo of Cuba is based on stupid 50's political paranoia.

Is the wall still up in Berlin?

Did the Viet Cong come ashore California?

Are the Red Chinese buying US Treasury notes?

Are most of the Russian nuclear submarines rusting?

Hello, it's 21st century. Send the NeoCom trolls back to their caves.

My son tells me that although the trade embargo is enforced, the U.S. is allowed to export food & drink products to Cuba. The Cuban government, in turn, does allow the purchase of food & drink products from the U.S.

I thought we (the US) had a trade embargo against Cuba?

I know they can't buy Harley's down there. Or get Cuban cigars up here.

Are food products not part of that deal?
