To the editor:

In light of the recent vandalism of Trump yard signs in New Ulm, I am asking all Democrats to stand with the victims of this vandalism. Make a statement that this hatred is not tolerated in our city. The most visible way to show your support for free speech in our city is to take down your own yard signs. It will send a message that New Ulm is not home to hate, that free speech in New Ulm is actually free.

To the victims of this senseless, hateful vandalism: If Democrats indicate their support of this lawless behavior, please reinstall the defaced signs. It will bear witness to the fact that hate is encouraged in New Ulm. Free speech is only free if it agrees with Democrat speech.
