Comparing administrations

To the editor:

The Obama administrations major foreign policy initiatives destabilized Libya and provided billions to Iran which our State Dept. designated as the top state sponsor of terrorism. President Obama’s meekness toward Russia was demonstrated early in 2009 as he praised Putin saying: “I am aware of not only the extraordinary work that you’ve done on behalf of the Russian people in your previous role as president, but in your current role as prime minister.” Later, on a hot mike, in March 2012, President Obama assured Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, “This is my last election, after my election I will have more flexibility.” “I understand,” Medvedev offered. “I will transmit this information to Vladimir.” The Ukraine asked the US for weapons to defend against Russian aggression and President Obama initially responded by sending MREs (Meals Ready to Eat). President Trump sent Javelin missiles.

President Trump encouraged increased funding for NATO to improve its ability to defend itself and also expelled sixty Russian diplomats and closed a number of Russian facilities in the US after two individuals were poisoned in England. He also increased sanctions against Russia in March, 2018 for interfering with our election process and has started rebuilding our military.

The lefts level of hysteria seems to double with every failure to take President Trump out and the relatively benign actions by the Obama administration contrast sharply with President Trumps actions involving Russia regardless of the left’s misrepresentation of the Helsinki press conference.
