Recreation Trail and Utility Easement

To the editor:

On July 17 the New Ulm City Council approved acquiring a Recreation Trail and Utility Easement from Prairie Land Development, LLP (PLD) at 1318 to 1330 Birchwood Drive. The New Ulm Bike Group would like to thank Prairie Land Development, LLP for donating this easement to the City of New Ulm.

This easement will provide a critical trail link for the Bike Circle Route on the north side eliminating the need to cross Hwy. 14 at N. Highland Avenue. It will improve access and safety by linking a trail to the frontage road off of N. Highland near Home Design Center to the Hwy. 14 underpass making it safer for people choosing to walk or bike. This will be a much safer route for people traveling to the new high school for school or athletic events and to the businesses on both sides of Hwy. 14.

Thank you for your generous donation to support healthy lifestyles through active transportation and recreation options in New Ulm.

On behalf of the New Ulm Bike Group
