Graduation time

There are a few truly significant times in a person’s life – one’s birthday, wedding day, the birth of one’s child or grandchild. Graduation is one of those times.

It represents a significant achievement. For high school seniors, it marks the end of 12 years of school and the transition from childhood to young adulthood. For college graduates, it marks the transition from school to the “real world.”

This weekend, Martin Luther College students will graduate on Saturday, and Cathedral High School students will graduate on Sunday, kicking off a series of ceremonies throughout the area that will take place through the rest of of the month.

We congratulate all the area graduates, including those who are graduating from colleges in other cities and other states. We hope the educations you have received will serve you well in the years ahead.

Graduation time is also a great time for celebration. We hope graduation parties will be festive and celebrations will be responsible. Your lives lie ahead of you. Please don’t let them be cut short.
