Brown County Browser: Election notes

Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy. It permits eligible US citizens to elect who will represent them in federal, state and local offices. Minnesota, like most states, requires people to register before they vote. This allows election administrators to learn of a person’s ineligibility to vote before an election, which contributes to the integrity of elections and the confidence voters can have in the results.

The 2018 election will have many state and local races on the ballot. To insure that your name is on the roster prior to Election Day, please take the time to register now. Anyone who will turn 18 prior to the election may register as well.

Brown County has added multiple precincts that will vote by mail. These precincts, as of today, are Albin, Cottonwood, Home, Lake Hanska, Linden, Mulligan, Prarieville, Stark, Cobden, Evan and Hanska. It is important that these voters be registered so that ballots can be mailed timely.
