The City of New Ulm has launched a new software system to improve the hiring process for persons seeking a city job and the human resources department. Job seekers are able to quickly apply online for positions currently open via the City of New Ulm website at http://www.ci.new-ulm.mn.us/ and by selecting “Employment” on the left navigation bar or by going directly to https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/newulmmn.

The City of New Ulm has partnered with NEOGOV, the nation’s largest cloud software for HR in government and education. Using this technology, the human resources department can access online records to expedite hiring and provide greater accountability when selecting new employees.

This new software streamlines the job search and application process for job seekers. Instead of filling out a paper application form for each job opening, applicants can submit an electronic application form for multiple open city positions. This will also allow applicants to save application information so that applicants can apply for City of New Ulm jobs without repeatedly re-entering the same information.

The new system also allows hiring managers to more effectively create minimum qualifications to sort through a pool of applicants. With the new system, administrative work and technical maintenance costs are reduced as this workload is handled by the NEOGOV system.

Are you wondering about the status of your application? You can now login to your account and see all applications you have submitted and the status of those applications.

The new NEOGOV system also allows job seekers to receive email notifications each time a position opens with the City of New Ulm by going to https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/newulmmn/jobInterestCards/categories. If you are interested in a position with the City of New Ulm, you just need to go to the above link and check the job categories that interest you. You will then complete a job interest card and will receive email notifications whenever a position in that category opens for the next 12 months. You won’t need to worry about missing a City of New Ulm job posting again.

Do you need access to a computer now that applications must be submitted online? The New Ulm Public Library (or a public library where you live) is a great resource if you need access to a computer to submit an application.
