Brown County Browser: Voting from home

During the global COVID-19 pandemic, public health experts are unanimous that avoiding crowded public places is the best way to limit the spread of the disease and keep our communities healthy. While Minnesota remains under a state of peacetime emergency in response to the pandemic, Secretary of State Simon will be sending a request to all registered voters who have not yet requested an absentee ballot and do not live in a mail ballot precinct to Vote From Home. These applications should be arriving the week of September 14th.

Over 4,000 voters in Brown County have already requested ballots for the General Election. If voters are still interested in obtaining a ballot to vote at home, it is recommended that applications be submitted by October 2nd to allow enough time to receive and return your ballot.

Your ballot can be tracked from the time you make application to the date that the ballot is returned and accepted. This is a great practice to know that your vote will count. Go to http://www.co.brown.mn.us/elections and click on Track my Absentee or Mail Ballot.

If you have not registered to vote, please do so prior to the Oct. 13th deadline for pre-registration. This will expedite voting at the precinct.
