Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with Pastor Rob Guenther officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-NORTH Chapel in New Ulm. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.

Casual dress for those attending Cathy’s services is encouraged by her family.

Cathy is survived by her brothers, Larry (Sue) and Tim and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis & Elaine Vogel, and by her grandparents.

Cathy Ann Vogel was born on October 13, 1959 in New Ulm. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on November 8, 1959. Cathy was confirmed on April 7, 1974 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She attended country grade school in rural New Ulm and then attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School through eighth grade. Next Cathy attended New Ulm High School and graduated in 1978. Following graduation, Cathy continued living on the farm where she grew up. She was employed at McDonald’s for many years before working at the Holiday Station in New Ulm until recently. Cathy enjoyed taking walks with the dog, reading, and needlepoint.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
