Jody L. Retzlaff

NEW ULM — Jody L. Retzlaff, age 61 of New Ulm passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 at the New Ulm Medical Center.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Nathan Scharf officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Jody is survived by her husband, Brad Retzlaff; daughters, Brynne (Matt) Ambroz, Carly (Clint) Aretz; her mother, Donna Johnson; sisters, Candy (John) Webster, Leslie (Dave Berle) Johnson, Connie Schrader, Kellie (Randy Paa) Johnson Brooks; brothers, Bruce (Deb) Johnson, Terry (Karen) Johnson; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lester Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marcus and Betty Retzlaff.

Jody Lynne Johnson was born Oct. 3, 1960 to Lester and Donna (Werner) Johnson in New Ulm. She graduated from New Ulm High School. Jody was united in marriage to Brad Retzlaff on Feb. 26, 1983 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. They moved to their beloved country home where they raised their two daughters in a house filled with those she loved. Jody worked at Retzlaff Our Own Hardware, Mankato Electric and Luepke Oil. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jody enjoyed playing games, yard work, watching baseball and the Wild, hunting morel mushrooms, squirrels and moles. She especially loved her trips to Leech Lake and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
