Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. on Thursday, June 10, at the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel and will continue on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Madelia.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Madelia, on Friday, June 11, at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Madelia.

Military rites will be provided by the Madelia Area Veterans Honor Guard.

Richard “Dick” Gillespie was born on December 12, 1934 in Madelia, to Elmer and Clara (Steinbach) Gillespie. He served in the U.S. Army.

Dick is survived by his wife Kay Gillespie; son, Tim of Tempe, AZ; and daughter Amy Dougherty of Center Cross, VA.
