Marie Rose Schimschock

Marie Rose Schimschock, age 98 of New Ulm passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Woodstone Assisted Living in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Thursday, May 13, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial following in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday.

All attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Marie is survived by her son, Michael (Tana) Schimschock; grandchildren, Gina (Pete Tix) Schimschock, Rose (Tom) Wickham and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Sophia Wickham.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; sisters, Matilda (Richard) Weymann, Amelia (Harry) Weymann, Meta (Carl) Kamm, Louise (Wally) Gulden, Betty (Henry) Schafer; brothers, Ambrose (Hildegard) Saffert, Albine (Adeline) Saffert, Roman (Matilda) Saffert, Frank (Adeline) Saffert and brother-in-law, Leo Reinhart

Marie Rose Saffert was born May 11, 1922 in Cottonwood Township to Frank and Elizabeth (Hoffmann) Saffert. On February 3, 1945 Marie was united in marriage to Raymond F. Schimschock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. Marie worked at Tillman’s Bakery now known as the Backerei. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Altar Society, Catholic Aid, CCW and the Medical Center Auxiliary. Marie enjoyed working with flowers and decorating her house but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Marie will be missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
