GIBBON — Edward John Kokesch, age 88, passed away peacefully at the Fairfax Nursing Home in Fairfax.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at St. Willibrord’s Catholic Church in Gibbon. Father Bruno Santiago will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in the St. Willibrord’s Catholic Cemetery in Gibbon.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at St. Willibrord’s Catholic Church in Gibbon.

All guests in attendance are required to wear masks and follow current social distancing guidelines.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Diane Sowers of New Ulm, Darlene (Dennis) Bergman of Huron, South Dakota, Joyce (Mark) Magoon of Orlando, Florida; sons, Dale Kokesch of Jefferson, Ohio, Dennis (Pam) Kokesch of Winthrop, Daryl Kokesch of Gibbon; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Ann Kral; brothers, Robert Kokesch, Harold Kokesch; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Kokesch; his parents; son, Galen Kokesch; and brother, Jim Kokesch

Edward John Kokesch was born December 20, 1932 to Arthur and Veronica (Grossam) Kokesch in West Newton Township. He was united in marriage to Delores Karstens on December 22, 1956 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Edward made a career for himself farming and working at AMPI, where he retired. In his free time, Edward loved playing cards, going to auctions, collecting various items, cutting wood, and working in general. He especially loved traveling with Delores and spending time with all his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by those that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
