Samuel Jacobson

NEW ULM — Samuel Jacobson, age 41, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at his home in Minneapolis.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the City Cemetery in New Ulm.

Sam is survived by his parents, Michael Dean and Maria Therese (Kitzberger) Jacobson of New Ulm; aunts and uncles, Peter (Rita) Kitzberger, Franz Kitzberger (Michelle Kaisersatt), Martha Kitzberger, Andrea Kitzberger Stelljes, Reed Stelljes, and Joel Dahlgren. Cathy (Randy) Miller, Patty Karel, Thomas (Rhodella) Jacobson, Emilee Jacobson, Vickie Jacobson, and many first cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Peter J. and Marcia Kitzberger, Clayton and Clarize Jacobson, uncles Paul Kitzberger and Dennis Jacobson, aunt Rhonda K. Dahlgren, and a first cousin Josh Bartells.

Samuel James Jacobson was born July 4, 1979 in New Ulm to Michael Dean and Maria Therese (Kitzberger) Jacobson. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 1997 and attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis to pursue a degree in computer animation. His strong aptitude with computers took him to California for a year, then back to Minnesota. He worked at Quality Bicycle Products in Bloomington, Minnesota in QC, IT, and supervisory positions. In addition to working and building computers, he loved listening to, playing and creating music, using guitars, drums, keyboards and synthesizers. He also enjoyed building bicycles and bicycling. He loved skateboarding in his youth.

Sam was compassionate and kind. He was a fun, witty, good humored, and lovable guy.

He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.
