MANKATO — Thomas Ranweiler, 79, of Mankato died Monday, April 13, 2020 at his home.

Due to the current social restraints, a private family graveside service will be held at New Ulm Catholic Cemetery with Father Gerald Meidl officiating.

The service will be live streamed starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 on the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes Facebook page.

Tom is survived by his sisters, Mary Jo Haak of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, Barb Brueske of New Ulm and Jean Ranweiler of West St. Paul; brothers, Jim (Virginia) Ranweiler of Rochester, John Ranweiler of Columbia Heights, Paul (Rita) Ranweiler of St. Michael, Joe (Lynn) Ranweiler of Warminster, Pennsylvania and Mark (Jenni) Ranweiler of New Ulm; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his great friends in California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley; and his brothers-in-law, Carl Haak and Roy Brueske.

Thomas Richard Ranweiler was born September 22, 1940 in New Ulm to Waldemar and Marie (Bastian) Ranweiler. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Mankato State University. Tom served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. He was employed at Lockheed, Northrup Graumman, TRW and Space Application as a Programs Analyst until retiring. Tom was united in marriage to Shirley Horton in 1992 in Hawaii. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed sailing.
