Bruce Brau

It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Jamie Brau of Arlington, Minnesota announces his sudden and unexpected passing on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 at the age of 65 years due to cardiac amyloidosis. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Jamie (Micah) and Lindsey (Cole); his granddaughters Estella, Aviana and Finley; his mother Helen “Shorty”; siblings Dr. Steve (Susan), Patty (Frank), Dan (Angela), and Rob (Angie); and his nieces and nephews. Bruce is preceded in death by his father Norbert and brother Dr. Bill.

Bruce was born in Arlington on July 31, 1954. Upon completion of high school and marketing classes at a vocational school, he started his career selling cars at Mahowald Motors before joining the family business. Managing Brau Motors was his life’s passion and he loved the work he did, especially the opportunity to work alongside his father and brother, Rob. All who met Bruce knew he went above and beyond to help his customers in any situation, even late-night wrecker calls.

Faith played a central part in Bruce’s life. He found great comfort and guidance in his strong relationship with the Lord. His exuberant smile, laugh, and kindness will be remembered always. Bruce took great pride in being physically active and could often be found swimming laps, out on the tennis court, or running around town. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially at the lake, and he loved his newest title of “Grandpa”.

The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington. A gathering of family and friends will be observed prior to mass starting at 9:30 a.m.

Memorials preferred to American Heart Association.
