Audrey Marie Leonard was born March 14, 1924, in Groton, South Dakota to Guy and Regina (Grommersch) Leonard. She attended country school in Swan Lake to the eighth grade. Audrey was united in marriage to Joseph F. Schneider on August 24, 1944, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm while Joseph was home on a 30 day leave during WWII. This union blessed the couple with a daughter and five sons whom together they raised in New Ulm where Audrey worked from the home as a loving mother and home maker. After her family was raised, Audrey went to work at 3M in New Ulm in 1968 where she worked for over 20 years. In her retirement, she volunteered at MRCI as well as local blood drives. Besides her work there were a variety of hobbies that Audrey enjoyed in life. She was a talented and gifted crafter and seamstress crafting countless gifts for family and friends that will be cherished for generations to come. As a social individual, Audrey loved her weekly trips to the beauty shop to get her hair set, as well as the numerous hours that were shared visiting and laughing with friends over coffee. Audrey was a devout and dedicated member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm, the St. Joseph/St. Elizabeth Catholic United, and the Christian Mothers. Audrey will forever be remembered by her family as one who would always put the needs of others first. Audrey was a caring and sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Blessed be her memory.
