Roger P. Zwach

NEW ULM — Roger P. Zwach, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Father Gerald Meidl will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Full military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes – SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Amy (Michael) Griffin; sister, Marie (Gene) Friederich; granddaughters, Cassandra (Michael) Sack, Ashlie (fiancé T.J. Perzynski) Morgan, and Erica (Ross) Petersen; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Alexa Sack; nieces, Christine Friederich, Gina Friederich; nephews, Craig Friederich, Daniel Friedrich and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Joseph Kamm.

Roger Patrick Zwach was born on February 25, 1944 in New Ulm to Jerome & Marcella (Schimschock) Zwach. He worked his entire career as a welder for Zwach Welding, taking over ownership after his father retired. Roger served his country for 18 years in the Army Reserve, and was a member of the American Legion. His favorite Sunday activity was picking up his grandchildren for a wonderful lunch together. He enjoyed spending time on his uncle’s farm in his younger years. Roger owned and loved flying his own plane and going for rides on his motorcycle.
