Vernus Buerkle
GIBBON — Vernus Buerkle, 94, of Gibbon died Monday, December 2, 2019 at the NC Little Hospice in Edina. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Pastor Steven Bauer officiating. Vernus is survived by niece, Connie Buerkle; nephew, Arvid Buerkle; great nieces; and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Veldon (Bonnie, Ruth Ann) Buerkle , Elsert (Lilla) Buerkle.
Vernus Arthur Buerkle was born on August 5, 1925 in Moltke Township, Sibley County to Arthur and Gertrude (Berger) Buerkle. He farmed the home place in Moltke Township his entire life until retiring. Vernus enjoyed dancing, listening to polka music, speaking German, and conversing with everyone. In 2018 he entered the Buffalo Lake Nursing Home in Buffalo Lake and enjoyed living there. Vernus was a member of Immanueal Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
