She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Paul Kitzberger.

Rhonda Rose Schroeder was born August 20, 1953, in New Ulm to Earl and Myrtle (Hamann) Schroeder. She attended grade school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School and was a 1971 graduate from the New Ulm Public High School. Rhonda attained her RN nursing degree at the Abbott Northwestern School of Nursing, graduating at the top of her class. Rhonda was united in marriage to Paul Kitzberger and was blessed with two children whom together they raised in New Ulm. Paul later died in a tragic car accident in 1991. On October 7, 1995, Rhonda married Joel Dahlgren in New Ulm and shared 24 beautiful years together in New Ulm.

Rhonda worked her entire career in the nursing field. She started her career with Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, and later moved to New Ulm where she worked at the Union Hospital, Sioux Valley Hospital, and eventually the New Ulm Medical Center where she worked as a medical-surgical nurse and a home health and hospice nurse. She finished her 34-year nursing career working as the school nurse for the Sleepy Eye and New Ulm Public School districts, retiring in 2009.

Besides her love for nursing, there were a variety of other hobbies she enjoyed in life. She loved her home, her garden, listening to music, and reading, but most of all she loved her family and every moment she got to spend with them. She also loved to travel and spend time taking in the beauty of the north shore of Lake Superior.

Although her passing seems hard for those who loved her, the countless individuals she cared for over the years will never forget her. She truly will be missed, but never forgotten. Blessed be her memory.
