SPRINGFIELD — Dale William Johnson, age 70, of Springfield died on Oct. 15, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. and will continue on Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Service will be held at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd on Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 am. The clergy will be Chaplain Noel Wetter.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. On line condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Dale Johnson was born on Feb. 24, 1949 to Einer and Marjorie (Weedman) Johnson in Springfield. After high school, Dale lived in the Twin Cities area and returned to Springfield in 1983 to farm. In 1993, he went to work for Barron Fabrication for 12 years then went to work for Wayne’s Fabrication in Morgan. On May 20, 1972, Dale was united in marriage to Janet Berhow in Truman. Dale enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, playing softball and baseball, watching the MN Twins and Vikings, singing Karaoke, and being in the company of friends. He was a member of the saddle club Sundown Riders.

He is survived by his wife Janet; children – Dana (Tammy) Johnson of Springfield and Brent (Nicole) Johnson of New Ulm; grandchildren – Tristan, Devin, Kadin, Ashtin, Paytin, and Delayna, Regan, Kane, and Chael; and siblings – Keith (Becky) Johnson, Kathy Pautzke, LeAnn (Art) Lehrer, and Kayla (Ron) Meine. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Robert.
