HANSKA — Arlo Harbo, age 99, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019 at the Crystal Seasons Assisted Living in Lake Crystal

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 at the Linden Lutheran Church located at 12937 110th Street, Hanska with Pastor Sarah Taylor officiating. Burial will take place in the Linden Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Linden Lutheran Church in rural Hanska.

Arlo is survived by his children, Larry (Pamela) Harbo and Sheryl (Bruce) Johnson; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Harbo, Jennifer (Mark) Green, Timothy (Liberty Warren) Harbo, Andrea (Jordan Klein) Johnson and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Harbo; his parents; two brothers and six sisters.

Arlo Samuel Harbo was born July 21, 1920 in Linden Township to Samuel and Ella (Halverson) Harbo. He graduated from Hanska High School in 1939. After school he enlisted into the United States Navy Air Corps and served from 1944 to 1946. While in the military he married Geneva Gwendolyn Duncan on April 28, 1945 in Van Nuys, CA. After his time in the military the couple farmed together in rural Hanska until his retirement. Arlo enjoyed fishing, traveling, dancing and spending time with his family.

He was a member of Linden Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Church, Linden Lutheran Cemetery Association and the American Legion.

Memorials preferred to the Linden Cemetery Association or donor’s choice.
