Maxine Christopherson-Vick

NEW ULM — Maxine Christopherson-Vick passed away peacefully on August 15, 2019 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor David Nissen will officiate. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Minneopa Cemetery in Mankato.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Judy Rainbolt of Milburn, Oklahoma; sons, Keith (special friend, Roberta Mortenson) Christopherson of New Ulm, Kenneth (Mary) Christopherson of Grand Junction, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her brother, John Schluter of Mankato;

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald Christopherson; second husband, Verdean Vick; infant child, Donald Christopherson; son, Kirt Christopherson; sister, Leona Gosen; daughter-in-law, Sharmen Christopherson; grandson, Jason Sohler; great-grandaughter, Brianna Krosch; and her brother, Donald Schluter.

Maxine Lena Schluter was born May 1,1923 to John and Emma (Andresen) Schluter in Wolsey, South Dakota. She graduated from Wolsey High School in 1940. Maxine Married Donald Christopherson in 1940 and Verdean Vick in 2001. Don died in 1997 and Verdean in 2007. She worked on the family farm in Lake Crystal and worked at Telex Amco. Later, she worked at Sterling Tube in Englewood as a quality control operator. Maxine retired at Apache Junction in Arizona. After marrying Verdean Vick, the couple lived in Blanchardville, Wisconsin until 2009. Maxine then moved back to New Ulm to be closer to her family again.

The 25 years spent in Arizona were great years spent playing shuffleboard, dancing, and taking part in the Pack Entertainment. Her final 10 years in New Ulm were also deeply treasured with all the time she was able to be with her family as well. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
