Mildred Zupfer was born June 9, 1920, in Linden Township to Frank and Anna (Brandel) Zupfer. She attended rural country grade school in District 4-Brown County. On Oct. 1, 1941, Mildred was united in marriage to John Isidore Drexler at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. This union blessed the couple with five daughters and a son whom together they raised on the home farm in Cottonwood Township. In 1974, Mildred and John moved into New Ulm, and their son John took over the farm. Later in life Mildred worked as a substitute for the New Ulm Public Schools lunch program and also worked for Eibner’s for a few years. She loved sewing, quilting, and did countless sewing alterations for those in need. Mildred also enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, and playing cards. What she loved most in life was her family and every moment she got to spend with them. Mildred was a devout member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm where she also served as a Christian Mother, and was a member of the St. Elizabeth/St. Joseph Catholic United. Blessed be her memory.
