Dennis Roger Plucker, Sr. was born on February 7, 1938 to Enno and Ruby Plucker. He was raised on a farm near Chancellor, South Dakota, with his five siblings. In his formable years the family worked the farm and they were taught the value of hard work and the importance of honesty and integrity. As a child, Dennis loved riding his favorite horse, life on the farm, and was known as somewhat of a prankster.

In 1955, at the age of 17, Dennis followed in his older brother’s footsteps and enlisted in the United States Navy stationed on the USS WASP. He was honorably discharged in 1969 as a reservist. During his service to the United States Dennis visited nearly every major port city in the world.

While stationed on the east coast Dennis met and married Katherine and they had four children. They later divorced. Dennis married Audrey in 1968 and together they had three children. They divorced in 1981. Following his service in the Navy Dennis worked a variety of jobs; he was a well driller for many years and most recently drove truck retiring at the age of 75. He took pride in this work but it was not his passion. His passion could be seen where he lived in the country. He loved farming, raising livestock, growing Alfalfa, and bailing hay. He enjoyed repairing John Deere tractors and shooting guns.

Dennis was an imperfect man with regrets but he did not regret his passion for farming, he loved to get up early, spending the day engaged in the toils of farming. His faith may not have been visible to all, but in the end he held to the lessons he learned early in life. He will be remembered by his family for his sense of humor, as a story teller, and a protector. He passed away at his beloved farm near Murdock, Minnesota, on July 27, 2019. He attained the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 20 days.
