Elden Emery Dammann

SPRINGFIELD — Elden Emery Dammann, 88, of Springfield and formerly of Sanborn, died on June 17, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 20, 4-7 p.m., at the Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel and on Friday 10-11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Service will be held at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at St. John Lutheran Home, on Friday at 11 a.m.

Interment will be at the Sanborn City Cemetery.

Elden was born on the family farm by Sanborn on July 7, 1930, to Herman and Mary (Radtke) Dammann. He served with the U.S. Marine Corp doing his basic training starting in October 1951 at San Diego Camp Pendleton. He served one year in South Korea on the front line receiving a Purple Heart in February 1953.

He is survived by his daughter Brenda Anderson of Springfield; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and siblings Stan Dammann of Springfield, Gerald Dammann of Sanborn, Glenn Dammann of Springfield; and Melva Ochs of Faribault.
