Marilyn C. Rolloff

Marilyn C. Rolloff, age 95, of New Ulm, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel, with Pastor David Winterfeldt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Morgan.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Bob (Margie) Petersen, Bill (Renee) Petersen, and Steve (Shirley Moll) Petersen; daughter-in-law, Lauren Petersen; step-daughter, Sue (Frank) Remer; grandchildren, Michelle (Todd) Petersen Guy, Scott Petersen, Robert Petersen, Chandra Baker, Andrea Petersen, Erik Petersen, Joe Petersen, Sarah Petersen, Mallory Petersen, Tyler Petersen, and Alyssa Petersen; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Petersen and Walt Rolloff; sons, Clarence Petersen Jr. and Tom Petersen; daughters-in-law, Myrna Petersen and Elaine Petersen; step-daughter, Vicki Rolloff; granddaughter, Rhonda Petersen; and a step-grandson, David Rolloff.

Marilyn C. Filzen was born on November 22, 1923 in Springfield, MN to Peter & Mary (Turbes) Filzen. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1941. Marilyn was a homemaker to her family, as well as being employed as a cook at the City Café in Sleepy Eye and the Dakota Hotel in New Ulm. She later was employed at the Heritage Nursing Home in Edina as a dietary aide. Marilyn enjoyed her retirement at her lake home, music, playing cards, the Minnesota Twins, and crocheting. Most of all she loved her family. Marilyn was the pillar of her family, and loved each one of them with the same equality, interest and care. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Oak Hills Foundation.
