GIBBON — Rosella “Rosie” Meyer, age 86, of Gibbon passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at the Southview Living Center in Gibbon.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Township with Pastor Benjamin Rucker officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Rosella is survived by husband, Vernon; daughter, Deborah (Tom) Forstner; sons, LuVerne Meyer, Mike (Fran) Meyer and grandchildren, Jesse Forstner, Nicole Svingen, Joni Stadtherr, Jenna Peterson, Matthew Meyer, Emily Meyer, Jessica Meyer, Nathan Meyer and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Meyer, Lorella Dahl and daughter-in-law, Pamela Meyer.

Rosella Mae Dahl was born April 4, 1932 in Renville County to Arvid and Lydia (Schultz) Dahl.

She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1950. She married Vernon Lloyd Meyer on May 23, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax. After marriage the couple farmed together in Moltke Township until September 1982 when they moved to Gibbon. She was a homemaker and a babysitter for all of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke. Due to Alzheimer’s disease she moved to Southview Living Center in Gibbon on May 31, 2011 where she received excellent care. Rosie enjoyed baking, gardening and canning but above all else she loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.
