David Russell Thorson

SLEEPY EYE — David Russell Thorson, 86, of Sleepy Eye (formerly of New London-Spicer area), died on Sept. 5, 2018 at the Oak Hills Living Center of New Ulm.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.

Service will be held at the Crow River Lutheran Church, Belgrade, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, with visitation at the church one hour prior.

Interment will be at the Crow River Lutheran Cemetery in Belgrade. Military Honors by the New London American Legion Honor Guard.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

David Thorson was born on Oct. 11, 1931 in Belgrade, to Russell and Pearl (Larson) Thorson. He served in the U.S Army from 1952 to 1960, serving in the Korean War.

David is survived by his wife Harriet, son Brian Thorson, daughter Kimberly Trebesch, brother Paul Wohlin, four grandchildren; Craig (Becca) Trebesch, Kelleigh (Ryan) Peterson, Kaitlan Bless, Kameron Trebesch (Andrew Clark), and five great-grandchildren.
