Theresa (Sellner) Reiniger was born Jan 9, 1929 to Otto Sr. and Theresa (Bruckbauer) on the Sellner farm south of Sleepy Eye. Theresa graduated from Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s High School. Following graduation, she worked on the family farm and helped her siblings by nannying for them until she was united in marriage to John Reiniger on October 15, 1952. When John was in basic training Theresa nannied for Colonel Griffith. John and Theresa lived in Texas while John was stationed there. They returned to Minnesota to raise their family on the Reiniger family farm in Stark township. Theresa worked along side John on their dairy farm. Theresa loved to cook, bake, collect recipes and work outside in her gardens. She loved to rake in the fall, sending smoke billowing from the leaf piles! Theresa enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, grandchildren and neighborhood children. She had a strong faith and a special love of the Blessed Mother. She encouraged prayer, before meals, while driving, in the evening and any stressful time was the right time to pray the rosary daily. She was kind and caring to everyone, when you were welcomed by her you became family. John passed away in 1980 and Theresa continued to live on the farm. She enjoyed working at Del Monte, volunteering at Next Tu New, cleaning church, leading the rosary, perpetual adoration and helping with CCW events. She moved to her home in Sleepy Eye in 1999 then in September of 2017 she moved to Divine Providence Community Home.
