Gordon “Gordy” Haack

NEW ULM — Gordon “Gordy” Haack, 80, of New Ulm died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska with Pastor Sarah Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, SOUTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm and visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday. To leave online condolence or to sign the guest book go to: www.mvfh.org

Gordon is survived by his wife, Karen Haack of New Ulm; sons, Rick Haack of Tacoma, Washington, Darrin (Karen) Haack of St. Paul; grandson, Rusty Haack; step-sons, Matthew (Meredith) Larson of New Ulm, John Larson of Mankato, and Joseph Larson of Hanska; step-grandchildren, Kyle, Caleb, and William Larson, Victoria Frank; brother, Robert “Dale” (Agnes) Haack of New Ulm; son-in-law, Randy Rivard of Hanska; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Twyla Lindmeier, Donna Scharf; brothers, Earl “Wayne”, and Richard Haack; and step-daughter, Marie Larson.

Gordon James Haack was born on May 6, 1938 in New Ulm to Richard and Josephine (Soligny) Haack. On May 22, 1993 he was united in marriage to Karen Larson at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska. He ran his own construction business, Gordon Haack Construction. Gordy was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in New Ulm in 2018. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of his home and yard, and loved attending auctions. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
