MSG (Ret) Shirley E. Zulauf

Shirley E. Zulauf, age 67, of Burnsville passed away at her home on June 24, 2018

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Burnsville prior to the church service at 11 a.m. Full military Honors will be conducted following the service at the church.

Interment will be at Rice Lake cemetery, Linden Township will occur a few weeks later.

Shirley Evon zulauf was Born July 21,1950 to Samuel and Emma ( Roseng) Zulauf in New Ulm. She graduated from Madelia High School in 1969.

Shirley joined the Regular Army (Women’s Army Corps – WAC) and served from 20 June 1969 to 11 January 1971 as an E3.

Shirley was employed by 3M in New Ulm until she was employed full time for the Minnesota National Guard. While serving in the guard she received many awards and commendations.

Shirley retired from the Full Time Technician Program in 2010 after serving 32 years in the Minnesota National Guard.

After retirement she volunteered for many organizations such as the Hanska American Legion Auxiliary, The Minneapolis Veterans hospital, St James Lutheran church and the Red Cross, just to name a few.

Shirley is survived by a daughter Eleanor (Elle, Butzi); granddaughter, Trinity; sister Kay (Don) Grams; nephews, Martin and Chris Grams, niece Amber (Tom) Goblirsch, one great-nephew, three great-nieces and many friends.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents, Sam and Emma Zulauf, a brother Samuel Zulauf Jr. and her sister Rosemary Zulauf.
