Norma Duesterhoeft

NEW ULM — Norma Duesterhoeft, 92, of New Ulm died Monday, May 7, 2018 at Woodstone Senior Living in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday, May 10, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Donald Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at church on Thursday.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Norma is survived by a niece, Brenda (fiancé Mike) Imholte; nephew, Keith Duesterhoeft; a sister-in-law, Ila Duesterhoeft; great nieces, LeAnn LaVallee and Julie (Dan) Monrow; great nephews, Scott LaVallee and Casey LaVallee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Laura Weith; and her brothers, David and Roy Duesterhoeft.

Norma Frieda Pauline Duesterhoeft was born October 12, 1925 in Cedar Mills Township, McLeod County to Henry and Emma (Otto) Duesterhoeft. She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School , St. Cloud State and Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Norma was employed as a teacher at St. Paul’s Grade School in New Ulm until her retirement. She was an avid reader, traveler and site seer.

Norma was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and a friend of the New Ulm Library.
