Darlene Irene (Voges) Olson was born August 31, 1946, to George and Irene (Wilking) Voges. She grew up in rural Courtland, attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Nicollet High School. She married Keith Olson on October 7, 1967 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They made their first home in Madelia and later moved to Godahl where they farmed together and raised their three children. Darlene was thankful to remain on the family farm until God called her home.

Darlene worked at the Godahl Store for over 40 years and was a tireless supporter of the Godahl community. She loved farm life and enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, canning, and any outdoor work. Darlene faithfully served her church and generously cared for others. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She lit up with joy when she was with her family. Time with those she loved always made her the happiest.

Darlene is survived by her husband Keith of St. James, children: Brian (Carlie) Olson of Hanska, Gwen (Wayne) Rossbach of Hanska, and Brent (Kristin) Olson of Eden Prairie, 10 grandchildren (Tanner, Cooper, and Sawyer Olson; Courtney, Jacob, Cali, and Noah Rossbach; Madelyn, Jack, and Parker Olson), siblings; Roger (Ruth) Voges of Jenkins, Sharon Johnson of Nicollet, and Carol Folsom, Dale (Donna)Voges, and Jane (Doug) Gulden all of Courtland; special in-laws Diane (Jim) Evenson of Mora, Dean (Marsha) Olson of Finlayson, and Kelvin (Regina) Olson of Lake Crystal, and so many more dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Irene Voges, mother and father in-law, Myrtle and Milford Olson, and brother in laws Ernie Johnson and Bob Folsom.

Darlene was a shining example of faith, family, selflessness, humility, and strength. No amount of time with her would have been enough. We will treasure her memory always.

The family would prefer memorials in lieu of flowers.
