Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel and will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 am Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm.

Catherine is survived by her children, Gerald “Pete” (Dianne) Helget, Thomas (Darlene) Helget, Mary Ellen Schiesl, Cathy (Craig) Galvin; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold; her parents; brother, Robert (Myrna) Loesch; sister, Elizabeth (Andrew) Stadick and her grandsons John and Jeffery Helget.

Catherine L. Loesch was born March 12, 1918 in New Ulm to Peter and Mary (Fleissner) Loesch. She graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in New Ulm. On June 22, 1937 she married Harold Helget in New Ulm. She worked for Herbeck Insurance as a secretary for over 25 years and then for Prange-Herbeck Ins. for another 10 years. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Society; St. Monica’s Society, Christian Mothers Society, Turner Ladies Society and the New Ulm Bowling Association. She enjoyed her time at the Senior Center, was an avid card player, enjoyed needle work and reading but most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
