Ruth Lola Buerkle was born in Terril, Iowa October 29, 1927 to Anthony & Opal (Roe) Reece. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1945. She first married LaRay Johnson and had three children, Larry, Cindy and Dan. On June 5, 1965 she married Alvin Buerkle and moved to Gibbon. She lived in Gibbon until July of 2014 when she moved to the Highland Chateau in St. Paul. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Preceded in death by husband Alvin, son Larry Johnson, great-granddaughter Olivia Oberg; brother Ralph (Elizabeth) (Ilene) Reece; brother-in-law Roger “Sam” Isaacson. Survived by children Cindy Johnson, Dan (Jill) Johnson; daughter-in-law Kathleen Johnson; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sister Ilene Isaacson; nieces & nephews. Memorial Service 11:30 Friday Dec. 29 with visitation two hours prior at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. Burial Church Cemetery.
