He was born on September 30, 1922, to Alfred and Rose Nazarenus in Sleepy Eye.

Daryl served in the U.S. Army during World War II with Company F, 2nd Ranger Battalion in Central Europe and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He is survived by his children Sandra Nazarenus, David Nazarenus, and Shelly Nazarenus; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Nazarenus of Sleepy Eye and sister, Gretchen Brethorst of Maple Plain

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
