Ervin “Snuffy” E. Polzin

WINTHROP — Ervin “Snuffy” E. Polzin, 90, of Winthrop died on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Winthrop.

Service will be Thursday, October 26, 2017, 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery. Military honors by the Winthrop Honor Guard. Arrangements are with Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017, 5-8 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Ervin Emil Polzin was born on September 5, 1927, in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, to William and Emma (Hahn) Polzin.

He served in the U.S. Army from November 24, 1950, until August 24, 1952, during the Korean War. He received the CID, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Camp Star, and the ACM (Japan) Medals.

Ervin is survived by his wife, Donna Polzin of Winthrop; children, Danette Polzin of Winthrop, Terry Polzin of Richfield, and Sara Giskaas of Winthrop; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice Albright of Burnsville; and brother, Melvin Polzin of Winthrop.
