SLEEPY EYE — Rosalie Irene Kissner age 90, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on Sept. 25, 2017, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.

Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel and will continue on Monday from 10:30 until 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church.

Services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at 11 am.

The clergy will be Pastor Phil Siefkes. Interment will be at the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Rosalie Irene was born on March 5, 1927 in Aberdeen, S.D., the daughter of Lee Roy and Eleanor (Spethman) Thurston. She grew up and attended the Groton High School through the 9th grade. Rosalie worked for Control Data in Redwood Falls, Haas Press and farmers in the Evan area before going to work for Del Monte. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Rosalie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Sleepy Eye.

Survivors include her sons, Stanley (Lorraine) of New Ulm, Carl (Carrie) of New Ulm, Richard of Springfield and Thomas of Sleepy Eye, eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a brother, Allen Thurston of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Sowers; husband, Curtis Kissner; brother, Bud Thurston and sisters Doris and Phyllis.
