Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector, with interment in the church cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Carl O. Potter American Legion Post 135 of Hector.

Gathering of Family and Friends will be held for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Water “Wally” Runtzel was born April 25, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., to Paul and Anna (Schmaltz) Runtzel. He served in U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946.

Wally is survived by his nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector.
