Wallace Emil Schmitt

Wallace Emil Schmitt, of Tacoma Washington was called home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2017. May Wallace find peace without suffering in the arms of Jesus. Born February 26, 1935 in Comfrey, Minnesota to Walter and Hilda (Hall) Schmitt. After high school, Wallace enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA. Wally came to love the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and made his home in Spanaway, WA, where he met the love of his life, Pauline (Paulson). Wally and Pauline were married for 47 years. They traveled and lived life to the fullest. Wallace was not only a loving husband but also a loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Wallace was preceded in death by his brother Gerald Schmitt of Sleepy Eye, MN, sisters Gladys Haala of New Ulm, MN and Mary Walters of Comfrey, MN. He leaves behind his beloved wife Pauline, and eight children: Michael Fry (Janice), Aloha Johnson, Bradley Schmitt, Wally Schmitt, Kelly Schmitt (Jeffrey), Daniel Fry, Joshua Schmitt (Kimberly) and Kathrine Watts (Troy). Papa was truly loved by his 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Along with his family, Wally will be missed by the many friends he and Pauline have made over the years. A private service will be held for the family. Arrangements are being made by Hill Funeral Home in Puyallup Washington.
