Ken Weber

SANBORN — Kenneth Weber of Sanborn, Minnesota, passed away at his home at the age of 80 on Thursday, June 22.

Funeral services will be held June 26, 2017 at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 am on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church.

Ken was born in Charlestown Township on January 10, 1937. He attended Zion Lutheran School in Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn High School. Ken was in the military from 1960 – 1962 serving his country in Korea. Ken married Maxine Rixe on June 30, 1962. They were blessed with five children – Brenda (Tom) Steve of Sartell, Linda (Brian) Onken of Marshall, Tom (Teresa) Weber of St. Anna, Jenny (Ron) Kettner of Springfield, and Trish (Ron) Matthews of Redwood Falls.

 

Ken spent most of his life farming with his brother, Wayne in rural Sanborn. He served on numerous boards including Zion Lutheran Church and school boards, the Sanborn Elevator board,  and the Springfield Creamery board.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Ken will be remembered for his quick wit and tireless work ethic.

 Ken is survived by his wife and children, his grandchildren Todd (Alissa) Steve, Nick (Sam) Steve, Jess (Jordan) Austin, Samantha Onken, Matthew Onken, Maggie Weber, Kenny Weber, Michael Weber, Brandon (Megan) Hacker, Andy (Josie) Hacker, Brandon (Kelsey) Kettner, Marc Kettner, Lindsey Kettner, Justin Kettner, Shaun and Liam Matthews; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Mae Hacker. Ken is also survived by his brothers Wayne (Anita) Weber of Sanborn and Don (Jeanette) Weber of Grand Rapids and several nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Lydia and Roy Weber.
