James Michael Reinhart was born October 6, 1924, in Courtland Township-Nicollet County to Anton and Anna (Lamecker) Reinhart. He attended country school in rural New Ulm, and later St. Mary’s. Due to his brothers being drafted into the military during the war, Jim had to take over working the family farm with his sister at a young age. He worked on the farm for years, but later he went to work as a mechanic and furthered his education in mechanics over the years. On August, 31, 1949, Jim was united in marriage with Rosemary Franta at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette. The couple was blessed with six children whom together they raised in the New Ulm area where Jim worked as a mechanic. Eventually Jim and Rosemary retired to Donna, Texas, where they enjoyed many years of their lives getting to know a whole new group of friends. In life, Jim had a wide variety of interests. Jim dearly enjoyed music his entire life. He shared his love of singing in the New Ulm Chorale, the church choir, and the choir at his park in Texas where he also shared his gifts of music playing the guitar. Jim was known by everyone as a social butterfly. He was always quick with a joke, or a good story. He dearly enjoyed socializing with friends and family over a game of cards, or out on the lake fishing. Jim was also a talented handyman. He was a past member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm where he served on the church council, was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and also served as a trustee. Jim also helped his community as a member of the New Ulm Auxiliary Police. Although Jim had such a wide variety of things that brought him joy in life, what brought him the most joy was always his family. From his eldest child, to his youngest great-grandchild, he loved each of them dearly. He would do anything for his family, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.
